How to Manifest Your Desires

You’ve probably heard the expressions “Ask and you shall receive.”  or “You are never given a dream without being given the means to achieve it.”  Here is a simple powerful practice for achieving your goals more quickly and easily and having the life you really want.

The shortcut version:

1) Get and hold onto a clear compelling vision of your ideal life and who you are as your ideal self.

2) Align your thoughts, words, and actions with this ideal vision as if its already present.  For example, believe that it’s possible for you and that you deserve good things. Act accordingly.

3) Stop struggling to make things happen, stay focused on the good feelings, thinking and doing what brings you more of that.

The longer version:

1) Close your eyes, focus inwardly, and breathe deeply and slowly for half a minute or so.

2)  Allow a clear compelling vision of your ideal life to come into your mind’s eye.  Do this in the 4 main life areas – Health, Relationships, Life’s Work, Finances.  Imagine your ideal life vividly, just the way you want it. What’s it like to live in your ideal life situation?  How is your health (physical, mental, spiritual), what’s your living situation, etc?  Associate lots of pleasure with it as if it were your reality right now.

3)  Now imagine who you are in this ideal life – How you breathe, how you move, how you feel, your perspective on life.  Get fully into the vision and feeling of this.  Breathe as if you are your ideal self.  Hold your self and move in this way.  What is your life like from this perspective?  Get deeply into the feeling of it.

3)  Now, consider the possibility that that this ideal life already exists and that it will easily manifest physically when you stop resisting it and allow it to happen for you, when you align your thoughts, words, and deeds with this new ideal state.  Instead of struggling to make it happen, all you need to do is stay focused on the good feeling, think and do what brings you more of that!

How do we resist having what we want?  By hanging on to limiting thoughts and beliefs like: “It won’t happen for me.  I’m not good enough.   Life is a struggle. Good things only happen to other people, I’m not worthy, etc.”  We also hang on to old habits and action patterns that are familiar but no longer serve us.  Things in this area include resisting getting in shape (it actually feels really good!), eating or drinking things that aren’t healthy and don’t make us feel good, well-worn habit patterns that don’t feel good anymore and are out of alignment with your ideal life.

Thoughts that help you flow in this direction include, “I am worthy of this. This is possible for me. Life is easy. I deserve this. I believe this will happen for me.”  Expect that good things will happen to you.  Notice difference between hoping something will happen and expecting that it will happen.  When you hope, there is doubt.  When you expect, there is certainty and this draws your desired state to you much more quickly and easily.  The energy you generate is the reality you create.

Consider the possibility that your habitual thoughts/emotional tone is like a radio signal that goes out into the world and attracts similar events to you.  Negative thoughts/a negative emotional tone will attract negative experiences to your life. If you focus on lack, you will see and experience lack.

Ask yourself often, “If I were in my full power and freedom, how would I move, breathe, think, feel, act?”  Visualize this powerfully as if it were real right now. Then, take one step, one action from this place.  Do one thing out of the ordinary, take one action now from this new place of power so you can begin to manifest from this new more powerful perspective.  It could be as simple as moving your body in a more empowered way or speaking with more passion and purpose in your voice.  Do it Now.

The Bottom Line:  When you have a clear compelling vision of your ideal life and who you are as your ideal self, and align your thinking and behaving with this state, your life flows quickly, easily, and powerfully in this direction.  Instead of struggling to make things happen, let go and go with the flow of your dreams and desires.  Life will carry you there to a better place if you let it, when you stop resisting with limited thoughts and behaviors.  Old habits and patterns of thinking and behaving will naturally release as you stay focused on your ideal life and who you are as your ideal self.  If you struggle, you are trying to swim against the flow of your dreams.   Instead, go with the flow by staying focused on what ways of thinking and behaving that bring you the positive feelings and do more of that. Believe that Life will support you and it will.

As Rumi says, “Let yourself be quietly drawn by the deeper pull of what you truly love.”
